HUMBOLDT, Kan. -- Ryan Gustin and the Gressel Racing team continued their streak of top-5 finishes this season with a runner-up results at the Humboldt Speedway on Friday during the 8th Annual Spring Fling @ The Bullring.
After a caution for debris on lap 14, Gustin got around Hughes for the second spot after the restart on lap 15, and moved into position to challenge Stormy Scott for the lead but was never able to get up next to him.
Driving the #19r Gressel Racing/Hughes Chassis powered by Mullins Race Engines, it was Gustin’s third top-5 finish in three starts this season. ‘The Reaper’ is the points leader in the USMTS Allgayer, Inc. Southern Region and sits second behind Scott in the USMTS Arbor Masters Central Region.

The team now heads for a USMTS tripleheader at three speedplants in Texas and Louisiana next Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 15-17.
On Friday, the USMTS Modifieds make their debut at the RPM Speedway in Crandall, Texas. From there, the teams trek to Bayou State with a stop at the Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian on Saturday before wrapping up the three-day stretch at the Boothill Speedway in Greenwood.
