The two swapped the lead each of the next three laps, and then Ryan appeared to take control until Simpson used lapped traffic to chase him down and regain the lead. A late-race caution saw Ryan take the No. 19R Rocket to the infield, ending his bid for a second MLRA feature win at the Moberly, Mo., race track.

 After winning the Real Racing Wheels "B" Main, Ryan blazed through the field from his 13th starting spot and was running down the leader when the yellow flag waved on lap 29. He stayed close after the restart, but Cade Dillard never offered up a mistake to allow him an opportunity to get by. He finished fourth at the end of the 42-lap race.

At the end of 42 laps, he passed ten cars, finished eighth and earned the Hard Charger Award for the race.
