 The night began as good as it gets. Ryan set fast time in qualifying against the best in the late model business. Mechanical problems haunted the team the rest of the night. He took a qualifying provisional to start the "A" Main but had to drop out early.

 After problems in his heat race, Ryan went out and dominated the "B" Main to get into the "A" Main, but mechanical issues once again forced him out of the main event.

 Rubbered-up before they even took the green flag, it was nearly impossible to pass. Ryan was able to maneuver from his 12th starting position to a fifthe-place finish at the big half-mile.

But before arm-waving fans could even wrap their minds around his improbable, thrilling charge from the 34th starting spot and into the lead, his chances at a $27,000 payday in Nebraska’s richest dirt late model event vanished.

 Finished 27th on Thursday

 Ryan recorded a fifth-place finish in Friday's qualifying feature at the World Modified Dirt Track Championship, placing him 16th for the start of the 100-lap, $20,000-to-win main event. Ryan climbed as high as fifth at one point, but had to wrestle an ill-handling modified and held on for ninth at the end. Now it's on to Batesville and the first race in The Hunt.

 It wasn't our best outing at Batesville. Ryan started the heat race in ninth and finished there. In the B-Main he went from 17th to 7th but was one of many victims of carnage in the race and had to head to the pits with a flat tire after getting clipped by a spinning car.  Had another rough night in the ol' Modified tonight. We broke in our heat race and again in the "B" Main. We were offered a provisional but felt it would be better to give it to somebody else as we would only be able to finish a lap or two. We'll get it figured out and be in Humboldt Friday night.

 Things were going good early on with a second-place finish in our heat race and then redrawing the pole for the 40-lap feature race. The car not up to speed and we hung near the front for a while but eventually pulled into the pits about 30 laps into the feature. We'll go back to the drawing board and pick it back up at Rice Lake Thursday night.

 Well, it wasn't a win but we had a much better race car Thursday night at Rice Lake. We got second in the "B" Main and got up to 10th in the "A" Main. We weren't the fastest, but felt like we were much closer to being where we need to be. On to Fountain City where we've won before and hoping to add to it.

 We saw some improvement tonight. After a good heat, we started seventh in the feature but fell back as far as 13th halfway through. by the time the checkered waved we were able to claw our way back for a seventh-place finish. We think we have found a shock problem that has been hampering us. Look for us to be good at Ogilvie tomorrow night.

 We found what we believe was the problem with the car: a broken rear shock. The car felt great tonight and it showed on the track. We started 12th but were up in the top 3 battling for the lead when a lapped car came down on us in turn 3 and wrecked us. We were out of the race seven laps short of the finish, but 'The Reaper' is back in form and ready for Granite City Sunday night.

 The team seems to have found the speed they've been lacking the last couple of weeks and had another good run at Granite City Speedway. Ryan jumped up from sixth to third right away in the main event, but the track began to take rubber on the third lap. From there, it was a freight train on the bottom with no passing anywhere in the field. Ryan made the last pass of the night, however, when Jason Krohn blew a right rear tire on the white flag lap and gave up the runner-up spot. We got second, which is a big move in the right direction. We'll be looking to get back into victory lane next week when the USMTS heads to Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma for three big shows.

 Challenged for the lead early on and had a solid top-five car but we slid off the track late in the race and had to pull 'er into the pits with a DNF. The car is great right now, but we think we can get it even better. Heading north next week for some more Hunting with the USMTS boys.

 A wicked heat race put us in the B-Main where we got second and started 16th in the A-Main. From there, we worked our way forward and picked up a seventh-place finish on a super-fast racetrack.

 We ran down early leader Jason Hughes and led for about 10 laps Sunday night in Cresco. Lapped traffic didn't play into our favor, however, and Hughes was able to get back around us about halfway through the feature. Nonetheless, we banked a runner-up finish so it was another good run for the Reaper.

 Ryan finished third Friday night at the Outlaw Motorsports Park near Muskogee, Okla. It was the first time for 'The Reaper' back in the dirt late model since the Silver Dollar Nationals in July. We'll be at the Springfield Raceway Saturday night for the Larry Phillips Memorial.

 Finished 3rd in Main Event

 Saturday night at Springfield Raceway, Gressel Racing and Ryan Gustin returned to the place where we won earlier this season. After a tough heat race, Ryan won the B-Main which got him the 17th starting spot in the A-Main. The Reaper was impressive, but wound up two spots short of winning the Larry Phillips Memorial and finished third. Next up, it's the Fall Jamboree at Deer Creek.

 Thursday night's opener was shortened by rain and time, so the main event was held Friday night. Gustin took the lead at the start and held off Rodney Sanders to take the win--the first for 'The Reaper' at the Fall Jamboree. Sanders finished second for a well-earned USMTS national championship title. Things weren't as good in the late feature Friday as we dropped out in 25th, but we bounced back for a solid fifth-place finish in Saturday's finale. Congratulations to Jason Hughes on his win.

 Thursday: Had mechanical failure in the heat race. Won the D-Main and almost transferred out of the C-Main. Friday: Set fast time in Group A Qualifying but struggled in the heat race. We won the B-Main and then passed ten cars in the A-Main to finish ninth. We will start tenth in Saturday's $40,000-to-win main event. Saturday: We ran up front for most of the race, but wound up 18th at the finish.

 Wednesday: We didn't do so hot in qualifying or our heat race, but had a great run in the "A" Main and raced from 11th to 3rd. Eighth in overall points, so we will go at it again tomorrow night. Thursday: Had a much better run, finished fourth and locked ourselves in for Saturday's main event. Allows us to focus on the Late Model only on Friday. Saturday: Started tenth and finished in fifth place for Saturday's A-Main.

 Thursday: After leading his group in time trials, Ryan roared from the sixth spot to win his heat race and then led all 20 laps of the "A" Qualifier to give himself a perfect score and the pole for Saturday's $10,000-to-win, $1,000-to-start 30-car main event that will start three-wide on the insanely popular high-banked clay oval. Saturday: Started and finished in first place at the Sooner Showdown for a $10,000 payday!
