On both Friday and Saturday, R.C. won his "B" Main to advance to the main event. He finished 17th the first night, and then raced from 21st to finish 6th on Sunday.

 It was a solid weekend for the Gressel Racing team as they invaded the Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, Texas, for the USMTS season opener. After racing through a "B" Main on Thursday, Ricky clawed his way to a fifth-place finish and then repeated the effort on Friday to get seventh. On Saturday, Ricky put together the best run of the weekend with a third-place finish in the 50-lap main event.

 The second week of the USMTS racing season took place at the Shady Oaks Speedway for a three-day affair. Ricky started off the night by finishing 2nd in his heat race and then rolled to a wire-to-wire victory from the outside of the second row in the main event. Friday night was not as kind. Ricky won his heat race and was battling Chris Brown for the lead in the feature race when the two made contact that resulted in the no. 20rt Hughes Chassis stopped in turn four. After the yellow flag, he was able to race back to finish 13th. On Saturday, he finished 2nd in his heat and then took 6th in the "A" Main after starting 11th.

 Round 3 of USMTS Winter Speedweeks took the Gressel Racing team to the Jackson Motor Speedway in Byram, Miss. On Thursday, mechanical problems hampered the team all night long and Ricky settled for 28th in the main event after using a provisional to get in. On to the next one!

 Saturday at the Whynot Motorsports Park was a big improvement from Friday's debacle. A 3rd in his heat race earned Ricky the 11th starting spot in the "A" Main and he parlayed that into a top-five finish.

 The final night in Mississippi took us to the Greenville Speedway. The night started off rough with a 4th place finish in the heat race, but it was enough to get the 12th starting slot in the main event. We need some new tin on the right side after Sunday night’s main event, but a $3,000 winner’s paycheck helped with the cost. Ricky dominated the race and finished with a 7-second win in the 40-lapper. And that included a caution with 7 laps to go!

 Ricky and the Gressel Racing team pulled into Vivian, La., Thursday for the first of three nights at the Ark-La-Tex Speedway. On Thursday, Ricky scored a dominating heat race win to kick off the night, but handling problems had him hanging on for a 10th place finish in the feature race. Friday saw another heat race win and a steady 4th place finish in the main event. The weekend wrapped up on Saturday with Ricky racing from 8th to 3rd in his heat and grabbing the runner-up finish in the "A" Main.

 USMTS Winter Speedweeks wrapped up March 9-11 at the Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore, and it was another solid weekend for the Gressel Racing team. Ricky scored his third win of the season Thursday with a wire-to-wire victory, and then topped that off with a runner-up finish Friday and an 8th place paycheck on Saturday. The team sits second behind Cade Dillard after 15 of 21 events in the USMTS Southern Region points battle.

Saturday was more of the same with problems knocking him out of his heat and "B" Main to cap off the weekend.

A tough draw for his heat race left Brandon 8th after starting 8th which put him deep in the "B" Main starting field. Despite rolling off 10th, he was able to get to 7th at the checkers but unable to advance to the main event.

 Saturday, August 8, took Brandon Givens and the Gressel Racing team to the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo., for the the 11th Annual USMTS Slick Mist Show-Me Shootout. Brandon Givens finished 4th in his heat race and again finished 4th in his "B" Main to earn a spot in the 40-lap main event. After starting 22nd, he clawed his way forward to record a 13th-place finish while also garnering contingency awards from Penske Racing Shocks and Swift Springs.

 The final race of the year for the Summit USMTS National Championship fueled by Casey’s took place Nov. 5-7 with the 3rd Annual Summit Southern Nationals at the RPM Speedway in Crandall, Texas. On Thursday, Brandon started 7th and finished 6th in his heat race. He started and finish 7th in a tough "B" Main and came up one spot shy of making it to the "A" Main. Friday saw another tough draw and a 7th place heat race finish, but he grinded his way from 11th to 6th to take the final transfer to the "A" Main where he started 24th and finished 23rd. Saturday was another step in the right direction, finishing 4th in his heat after starting 5th. he went from 4th to 4rd in his "B" Main and ended the weekend with a 15th place paycheck after starting 18th.

 On Friday, Brandon passed two cars to finish 6th in a tough heat race. A 13th place finish in the "B" Main left him watching from the pits during the "A" Main. Saturday night found the Gressel Racing team back at the Hamilton County Speedway for a second night. Another back field draw saw Brandon rise from 8th on the gird to finish 7th in his heat race but an 11th-place results in his "B" Main kept the team out of the main event for a second night. A tripleheader Memorial Day Weekend is up next.

 Another stout field of USMTS Modifieds were on hand at the Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City on Friday. Brandon finished 6th in his heat race and an 11th-place finish in his "B" Main kept the Gressel Racing machine out of the feature race.

 Brandon drew the next-to-worst number in the field Saturday at the Tri-State Speedway. After starting 9th in his heat race, he got up to 7th which left him starting 9th in his "B" Main. That's where he finished and that ended the night for the No. 2G Gressel Racing team. A three-day Memorial Day Weekend swing is up next.

After a 6th-place finish in his heat race, he wound up 7th in his "B" main and did not start the main event.

 At the Deer Creek Speedway on Saturday for the 18th Annual USMTS Southern MN Spring Challenge, Brandon struggled to an 8th-place heat race finish and then 14th in his "B" main. With a provisional starting spot, he rolled off 32nd for the "A" main and finished 25th.

 Finished 23rd in Main Event

 Memorial Day Weekend for the Summit USMTS National Championship fueled by Casey’s concluded Sunday at the Upper Iowa Speedway with the 13th Annual USMTS Nordic Nationals. Brandon advanced from 8th to 6th in his heat race but a 6th-place result in his "B" main forced him to use a provisional to take the green flag in the main event. He started 27th and finished 23rd in the 40-lapper.
