Ryan Gustin of Marshalltown, Iowa, was the big winner during the 40 lap feature race on Friday night at Brown County Speedway during the United States Modified Touring Series.
Gustin entered as the leader in the USMTS Upper Midwest Region points standings with 901 points. He will add to that with his win on Friday night.
“It was a real good track tonight,” Gustin said. “You could run top, bottom wherever. It was an excellent; great race track.”
Gustin led for 19 laps and led for the last eight laps of the race. He fended off Zack VanderBeek of New Sharon, Iowa and Jon Tesch of Watertown, the polesitter, down the stretch for the win.
Gustin said the top of turns one and two were working for him and the bottom on three and four were also. Gustin beat 24 other racers in the feature race to pick up the win.
