The Gressel Racing team competed in the King of America V, March 26-28, at the Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kan. With two days and four total qualifying heat races, Ryan finished 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th which put him 18th in points and a spot in the 20-lap “B” Main on Saturday.
After a mishap in the “B” Main, Gustin went to the back of the field but was still able to race his way back to 11th to earn a transfer spot into the $10,000-to-win, 100-lap “A” Main.
The main event did not go as planned, however, as a meeting with the turn 1 wall ended his night early on lap 21.
A total of 82 cars and drivers were on hand for the three-day affair which will be broadcast to a national television audience this summer on MAVTV.
