Ryan Gustin and the #19r Gressel Racing team invaded the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Ky. Friday night for the Chris Smith Memorial/World USA 50 event with the MARS DIRTcar Series. 'The Reaper' won his heat race putting him on the front row for the main event. Gustin took the lead on lap nine and would continue to lead before mechanical failure would end his night. The team now heads to the I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Mo. this Saturday for another MARS DIRTcar Series event.
Feger Heats Up PIR
Paducah, KY (August 22, 2014) – Under a very hot August sun, Jason Feger of Bloomington, IL reigned supreme and collected his third consecutive Chris Smith Memorial / World USA 50 title at Paducah International Raceway Friday night.
Pole-sitter Brian Shirley of Chatam, IL led the first eight laps before fellow front row starter Ryan Gustin of Marshalltown, IA would over take Shirley on lap 9. Gustin would continue to lead before mechanical failure would for him into the infield and Feger would inherit the lead on lap 28.
Tanner English of Benton, KY, Billy Moyer of Batesville, AR, Tony Jackson Jr of Lebanon, MO and Brandon Sheppard of New Berlin, IL rounded out the top five.
